Reach New Heights & Get Out of Serious
Our extravaganza events are an experience unlike any other event you've attended before. Here, like-minded women come together for a night of laughter and collaboration with other women business leaders. Let's go!
Advance your business. Period. We'll connect you with other Dames based on your ideal audience & referral partners.
A humor-forward speaker will enchant us, and we'll also enjoy a message from Chapter President, Vanessa Shaw.
The Dame of Influence
Get inspired! We'll recognize a woman nominated by The Dames community for her achievements as a leader and mentor.
If This Sounds Like You, You'll Fit Right In!
- You own and/or lead a six or seven-figure business
- OR you are a senior leader of a large corporation or nonprofit (directors, VPs and C-Suite executives)
- Your organization is mission-driven and makes a positive impact
- You love to collaborate with and learn from other female business leaders
Your Phoenix/Scottsdale Chapter President
The key to Vanessa’s success isn’t the ability to channel her inner Chrissie Evert or Carrie Bradshaw on command; it’s knowing never to channel them at the same time! Originally from the UK, Vanessa is an International Business and Success Coach with more than 15 years of experience working with business leaders (including those with The World Economic Forum, Oracle, Sandler Training and within the International Coach Federation). “You can’t do it all alone and you MUST surround yourself with others ready to have higher-level conversations.” Vanessa is transparent in sharing her own struggles, bold when asking questions, and unstoppable when it comes to helping other women build their visions at a rapid clip. When you see her at our next event, ask her about the time she “accidentally” won a puppy at auction!
This Event's Dame of Influence
Kristen is the CEO of K2 Adventures Foundation, a qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit, national and international organization whose mission is to care for children, adults and families with special needs and/or life changing medical circumstances. Started in 2009 with President and co-founder Kevin Cherilla, K2 provides individuals with the services, support and funds necessary for their educational and medical enrichment. In tandem with K2 Adventures Foundation, Kristen and Kevin own an adventure travel company called K2 Adventure Travel that combines international hiking adventures with community service projects.
Kristen has been passionate about nonprofit service for over 20 years. Prior to co-founding K2, she launched her first nonprofit, Circle of Friends, in Sheboygan, Wisconsin to help under-served individuals in the community obtain basic necessities. Her small idea started in one school and is currently running 24 years later in over 25 schools.
Today, Kristen serves disabled populations in the U.S. and abroad in Tanzania, Peru and Nepal. Her service is founded on her core belief that all individuals, disabled or not, deserve the opportunity to fulfill their potential. In Tanzania K2’s support provides safety, education and nourishment for blind and albino orphans who face persecution because of cultural beliefs and stereotypes surrounding their diagnoses. In Peru, K2 donates adaptive equipment, as well as monetary resources, to enhance the educational opportunities of students with physical and cognitive disabilities. In Nepal, K2 is committed to aiding the recovery of local populations devastated by natural disasters, offering continuous humanitarian support and relief materials such as food, clothing and shelter.
Domestically, Kristen has made it her mission to offer individuals in the disabled community adaptive recreational opportunities and financial assistance through K2’s catalog of local programs and awards. Whether it is hosting an adaptive game of baseball for kids, or purchasing personalized prosthetic equipment for a wounded veteran, K2 is proud to provide services and support that would otherwise be unattainable for many local families.
Kristen graduated from Arizona State University in 1992 with a BA in Education, and received a Master’s Degree in Education from Cardinal Stitch University in 1997. She is an international mountain guide and a certified NOLS Wilderness First Responder with 19 successful summits of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Kristen is a mother of four boys and strives to be a role model to all her children. She has incorporated a junior board of directors within K2 Adventures Foundation for youth to be involved in community service and exposed to an ethics of compassion.
This Event's Entertainer
Jenny Locklin is a speaker, speech coach and humorous video producer. In high school, while others were voted most likely to become a doctor or a star athlete, Jenny was voted as having the Best Laugh. Today, she's making others laugh.
She works alongside her father, Joel Weldon. He is a hall of fame speaker and has been paid to speak at over 3,000 events and has coached over 10,000 speakers using his Ultimate Speaking System. Together, they help speakers create a clear message that has humor and impact and gets results; whether that message is being communicated in-person or virtually.
She also helps companies by adding humor to their meetings, Zoom calls and webinars. Health and Wellness events have hired her to speak about the benefits of laughter. Corporate companies have hired her to bring the fun after a day of intense training. Networking events have showcased her creative skits on what to do and what not do. Women’s retreats have featured her as the bait to get their attendance up. And lately, many of these have been virtual presentations.
She has produced over 17 comedy shows benefiting local charities. One of her favorite places to perform is at the senior living centers; where she's known to knock em’ dead! Which isn’t hard to do. And for those of you that still aren’t impressed, she was recently featured on the Dr. Oz show for winning the funniest video. That’s Dr. OZ not Dr. Phil! Everyone confuses her with someone who would be on Dr. Phil for an episode titled, Moms Gone Mad!
Jenny may be small in stature but she's huge in laughs.
